Starting on September 1st, 2010, The Colorado DJ will no longer be serving the Colorado Front Range, but moving to California and serving the San Francisco Bay area. We want to thank the greater Colorado Community for three wonderful years of service and loyalty as we regretfully move away from this great state.

Welcome to TheColoradoDJ.com! This up-and-coming DJ and lighting service is your one stop for entertainment at any event on the Colorado Front Range. We offer twice the entertainment at half the price and love to adapt to any situation! From weddings and corporate events to bars, PROMS, and theme parties, we provide the entertainment for any event!

Mission Statement:

We provide FUN. Simply stated, we are your entertainment. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the "DJ this" and "Song list that." You pay us so, we take care of the rest. We provide a "have to dance" platform. There will be no standing or sitting around. We will do everything to get that audience on the floor.

We cut our prices compared to the other guys to make the host have fun and keep the floor packed to make your guests have fun. WE are there for YOU. This means the DJ stays busy reading the crowd, taking requests and, making sure your event goes even better than planned. We are here to facilitate; not to slow things down with long dj speeches or other overbearing microphone behavior.

We specialize in Wedding Receptions and 16+ Dances. This means we love getting the crowds dancing for either family friendly events or young to mid-aged club events but, can still facilitate to any event you can think of. We also provide lighting for some small stage events like bands or presentations.

We exhibit nothing but the most professional behavior. This means DJ's will conduct themselves in an elloquent manner. We have young, yet experienced DJ's. There are no 50 year olds pretending to be "hip" and "with it," so your music experience will be genuine and according to your tastes- just the way you like it.

What's more is we don’t do what the other guys do and offer a great rate and painstakingly add on price jumps for lighting and DJ attire to nickel and dime you. Have an event that is not listed? It’s ok! We do it all and can adapt to any venue or occasion. The Colorado DJ will fully customize your song menu, lighting effects, and DJ performance based on your needs from simple background music to an interactive DJ who gets people up and dancing.

The Colorado DJ prides itself on specializing in wedding receptions, high school dances, and college parties. Let's face it- those are the events where people will dance the most and those are the events we've have the most fun with!

 

Where do we put on events?

The Colorado DJ services the following areas:

Starting in Colorado Springs, stretching up the Front Range through Golden and Boulder, all the way to Fort Collins, then out East to Greeley, down to the greater Denver area and back to Colorado Springs again. This is indicated by the red area.

Due to popular demand, we have recently added a secondary field to our service area for those stretching out all the way East to Fort Morgan or all the way West to Vail. This is indicated by the yellow area. An additional $250.00 will be added to the base cost for events in these areas to go toward transportation and additional costs.

Unfortunately, this DOES go against our standard that "no price jumps be added", but you asked for an extended area no matter the cost, so you got it! We hope you see the relevance of the geographical distances between towns in Colorado and how it affects business practices. Thank you for understanding.

If your event is outside these areas, we regret to inform you that we cannot do your event. Though we would love the business, we highly recommend that you go with another local DJ agency to save cost on your event.

I own a Bar and want to increase traffic...

As popular as the beer and spirits industry is, people still make a concious (or unconcious) decision on where they're going to spend their night based on three criteria:

1) Price. Yes, the most obvious one comes first. That's why you price competatively to bring in the customers.

2) People. If a patron's friends are going there, that extra customer will come along. Not only do friends affect the decision, but other patrons of the bar have a huge impact. Bars are the number one place to interact with people, so if your bar has a young crowd vs. older crowd, it matters.

3) Atmosphere. Everything from the paint on the walls to the music gives a person the comfort level they want when they have a beer with a friend. Hiring a DJ to select the right music or present interactive games like Bar Trivia can make the atmosphere become much more friendly for a wider range of people.

By bringing in a DJ every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or ANY day of the week, we can change the Atmosphere and in turn, help bring in more People.

If you're looking to bring in a younger crowd and have some dancing going on, we bring in all the latest and greatest dance tunes as well as a bunch of state-of-the-art lights to get the dance floor moving! By becoming a place to dance, you bring in more young women looking to forget their troubles, and in turn, more guys to buy them drinks!

If you're looking to bring in a much more diverse crowd, we suggest you consider our Bar Trivia. Always original and questions never repeated, teams of four can compete against other teams in the Bar for a free pitcher of beer by the end of the game. The rules are simple: no cell phones allowed and after each question is asked, they have until the end of the next song to turn in their answer. As the game continues, the questions get harder so, the points get higher too!

Weddings

This is your day. That's why The Colorado DJ will be there to ensure everything runs smoothly. Top sound, top lighting, and professional behavior should be expected from all Disc Jockey companies, but we will go above and beyond that. Unlimited consultation ensures we know EVERY detail of your event.

Things we make sure to cover include order of events like introductions, first dances, and cake cutting; what songs to play, what songs NOT to play, if Grandma should get a moment on the microphone, if the tables should be individually released for dinner, how outgoing the DJ should be, will there be participation dances, what traditions the family has for wedding receptions, and so forth. Some companies barely go over these things, but The Colorado DJ has an entire "menu" that can be filled out ahead of time according to your wishes. This ensures everything is covered by a company with plenty of experience in this area.

What's with the Lighting?

The Colorado DJ offers the newest and coolest lighting on the market. Our lights bring the dance floor to life and keep the beat alive for any event big or small. From simple colored wash lighting to motion L.E.D. lighting, The Colorado DJ has it all.

What's more is our lighting equipment supply is constantly morphing and growing. We add on a new light every two to three months. This means no event is the same and even if you book us over and over again, your guests will see a bigger, better light show every time!

Depending on the type of event you are throwing and how many people you are expecting, our experienced DJ's will bring the right setup for you. So, just in case if you're still wondering what that means, here's a few sample events that your event might be similar too.

Regardless of the event, you should know that ALL LIGHTING IS INCLUDED FOR FREE! So, if you feel like you don't want too much of a fuss with lighting- we'll take less. If you feel like you want the crowd to dance the night away no matter what- we'll bring boat loads of lighting. It's as simple as that. Our DJ's will work hand in hand with you to plan your event just the way you like it.

Tips about lighting...

Depending on your event and what you want to accomplish, different lighting may be right for you. Here's what we suggest:

If you're having a day event outside, a 50th anniversary, or a reunion party, you typically won't need that many lights since they either won't be bright enough out in the sun or you might get your older participants dizzy with so much going on. For these type events, we will simply light the floor in different colors and add a disco ball for slow or special songs.

If you're having a private party, themed party, corporate event, or bar event where dancing may or may not be the center of attention for the night, we will throw in some motion lights that keep the floor moving. If you're on the dance floor, you'll want to stay there, and if you're not, these lights will be calling your name. Depending on your preference, we can also throw in some black lights and a laser light for the front of the crowd and ceiling.

If you're having a wedding, school dance, or college party where dancing is simply the only thing to do, the Colorado DJ doesn't hold back and brings every light we have to keep the crowd engaged and to keep the most variation in lighting from song to song. Finally, if the venue allows it, we can bring in our fog machine and bubble machine to enhance the lights to their full potential. Beware! Fog may activate smoke alarms and bubble machines can get the floor slippery by the end of the night!

Remember, it is better for your event to choose lighting that is appropriate for your purpose and setting, so we will bring what is best given what you want and what you need. Also, remember your venue. If the dance floor is small and the ceilings are low, there may be trouble fitting everything. All lighting is included in your event price so, if you want to go big and get "the works", be our guest. We will deliver as best as we can.

Music Equipment With the top CD players, amps, speakers, and computer programs available, the Colorado DJ pumps out a musical experience that will keep your ears ringing for days. Our musical library offers the newest, hottest, and best classics of all time for any event. We can fully customize your music menu from over 1 billion songs to any theme including 80’s, Disco, Country, Dance, Rap, and Wedding classics. Want to make sure your song gets played? You can make requests ahead of time to guarantee your selections at the party. Guests can also make requests at the event. The Colorado DJ brings over 1 billion songs to every event so, we 100% guarantee that we will have all your requests. What if the song you want is on your iPod? Hand it over and we’ll make sure your song makes the cut. The Colorado DJ is dedicated to making your next event's musical selection nothing but the best so, if you want something- we'll make sure to get it going! Our Emcees take our extensive music library and fully customize it BEFORE and DURING your event based on reaction from the crowd. Keep in mind that during a four hour wedding reception, there will only be about three hours of dancing due to dinner, speeches, and formal dances. Emcees

DJ/Emcee Michael Stone Michael is the owner and an emcee for The Colorado DJ. DJ Mike has been DJing parties, sporting events, school dances, and weddings for over 4 years. Getting his start when a friend suggested him for his sister's wedding, he hasn't looked back since. His favorite music is rap, country, and anything you can dance to. Mike is currently a senior in college working towards his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering and Life Sciences. Michael is also a Lacrosse goalie for the men's club team at school as well as traveled to South Korea and Japan this past summer to play lacrosse for Team USA West.

DJ Taylor Henricks Taylor has been an emcee for The Colorado DJ since 2008. DJ Taylor's favorite music is modern or anything with a great beat. Taylor started his DJ career by suggestion of Mike simply for the great hours and wonderful people we meet every week.

The Colorado DJ's Military Appreciation Discount: 15% off your total with valid ID

While we strive to support all requests, services are given on a first-come-first-served basis. It’s best to reserve your event as soon as possible to secure your date and your price. Thank you for understanding. Check out these saving for July and August!

All events include unlimited in-person and/or over-the-phone event planning, event management, coordination with your venue, guest song requests, no setup or breakdown fees, four hours of initially planned service, no mileage calculation costs, DJ dressed according to the event, a billion+ song library, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment from The Colorado DJ. All of that brings us to one thing: Quality.

Take a look around an you'll find other DJ services cost up to $3,500.00 for a 4 hour event! This is because "the other guys" start low but, tag on price jumps for setup, breakdown, emcee wearing a suit, extra emcees, lighting packages, and so forth. The Colorado DJ prides itself on having one simple price, so you don't have to worry about a different number when it comes time to pay. Bar Trivia The newest and greatest questions for your patrons to participate in and attempt to win a pitcher of beer or other great prizes! Better get the answer in before the song is over though! We can model our game to cover all subjects or stick to a specific topic like sports or music at your request. Once the game is done, we'll stick around playing great songs and taking requests from your patrons and staff. This is a great way to get people into your establishment on lower traffic days. 3 hour event.	$200 $125 (Reduced rates for multiple/weekly bookings)
